We have some good and some bad news. The bad news is that it’s going to get colder and colder. The good news is that we have 3 discoveries to share that will soften the blow of winter’s arrival. 3 guilty pleasures to warm you up and help you to have some patience while waiting for Christmas to get here.

Sip a gourmet hot chocolate
In a hidden apothecary in the heart of Greenpoint, you’ll find the city’s best hot chocolate! You will have the choice between twenty-something chocolaty potions from the most spicy (their signature AztecKing fiery hot chocolate) to the most sweet (hot hazelnut & milk chocolate). There are some alcoholic options as well. Their selection will make Willy Wonka turn green with envy! Have a seat at the back of the boutique in their salon next to the library to enjoy your chocolate concoction. We promise you a moment of sheer bliss in this chocolate paradise.

Knit with Sophie
What better way to face NYC’s impending cold winter months than wrapping up in a warm handmade knitted scarf? So take out your needles and your balls of yarn! Don’t know anything about knitting? Let Sophie be your guide. This vivacious French mom launched her brand Breaking the Wool 7 years ago. On her website you will find tutorials and knitting kits to help neophytes, an e-shop to order some unique pieces and workshops to organize original events with friends or colleagues.

Savor a cheese fondue in a chalet
The Italian Restaurant Diveria Drive is transforming into an alpine refuge this winter. Tucked away from the bustle of Bedford, in a wood cabin atmosphere, this seasonal pop-up offers cheese fondue to share with friends. Traditional, mushrooms or truffle, no matter the variation of the dip you choose, you’re in for a real cheese feast. Treat yourself to this Swiss version of comfort food (and after-ski ritual!) and come warm up around the fondue pot for a convivial moment.
